Paige's Candle Co. has collaborated with Almonte Studio for a limited edition candle called, "Gradient" in honor of Black History Month.
The Gradient candle depicts the nuanced layers of Mixed Race Identity and Blackness. Their aim is to ignite deeper conversations on Blackness and the gradient within it. The conversation surrounding Blackness and highlighting what it means to be dark skinned, mixed race, and white presenting is necessary to shine light on stereotypes and assumptions on what it means to be Black in America. The label is hand illustrated by Almonte Studio depicting a mixed-race woman within the gradient of Blackness. Paired with a blush ceramic jar and cork lid, once this candle is sold out, it will be discontinued.
To keep as a decorative and informative art piece, simply wash out with warm soap and water once the candle has been spent.
